Welcome to DeafMap. By using our mobile app or website (deafmap.org), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. About DeafMap

DeafMap is a free, community-driven service that helps Deaf and hard-of-hearing people find venues, events, and job opportunities that are friendly to the Deaf community. The service is operated by DeafMap, contact: contact@deafmap.org.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account and use the service. If you are under 18, you should have your parent's or guardian's permission.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that happens on your account.
• You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Edit Profile → Delete Account).

4. User-generated content

DeafMap allows you to add places, events, jobs, reviews, photos, and other content (collectively, "your content"). By adding content, you:

• Confirm that you have the right to share it (no copyright violations).
• Confirm that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
• Grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store your content within the service, for as long as it's published.
• Understand that your content may remain visible (anonymized) even after you delete your account.

5. Prohibited content

You agree NOT to post:

• False, misleading, or fraudulent information about places or businesses
• Spam, advertising, or promotional content unrelated to Deaf accessibility
• Hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
• Content that infringes intellectual property rights
• Content that is illegal, obscene, or violates the rights of others
• Personal information of others without their consent
• Malware, viruses, or harmful code

6. Moderation

We reserve the right to remove any content or suspend any account that violates these Terms, without prior notice. If you see inappropriate content, please report it in the app or email us at contact@deafmap.org.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

DeafMap is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that:

• Information about places is always accurate or up-to-date
• The service will be available without interruption
• The service will be free of bugs or errors

Always verify accessibility features directly with the venue before relying on them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, DeafMap and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Third-party services

DeafMap uses third-party services (Supabase, OpenStreetMap, Google Translate, Apple/Google). We are not responsible for the practices or content of these services.

10. Changes to the service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will notify you of significant changes when possible.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. The latest version is always available at deafmap.org/terms. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Termination

You may stop using DeafMap at any time and delete your account from within the app. We may terminate or suspend your access if you violate these Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Poland. Any disputes shall be resolved by Polish courts, except where mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence apply.
